An Unforgetable Evening with Natalie Cole

The Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB) was sponsoring the Closing Event for the 2007 ASAE Convention in Chicago. With big dreams and a small budget, the CCTB wish list included Natalie Cole, 3500 guests, and a big Wow!
Solution
Using Charter One Pavillion, an outdoor music venue on Northerly Island next to Lake Michigan, as the location for the Natalie Cole Concert solved the first problem. The next challenge was to work with our event partners to build a large scale event. Every event element had to do double duty. We selected red for the catering tents. A profusion of sign banners and a multi-colored pattern of table linens became the visual decoration. Creative ideas from our decor and catering partners added the visual highlights on the buffets and a sea of tables to make the event venue sparkle.
Results
With the skyline of Chicago as the backdrop, In the Loop-Chicago working with our event partners: Blue Plate Catering, Tamar Production and the CCTB, produced a large scale outdoor reception and concert featuring the incomparable Natalie Cole. The guests arrived to a beautiful venue and enjoyed a wonderful picnic dinner. As the skies darkened and the skyline of Chicago illuminated, Natalie Cole took to the stage and wowed the audience.
