"Crossing the Continents" to success

Client
An international legal association needed to host a Gala Dinner for their top 300+ international lawyers. Their meeting planner selected the classically inspired Stanley Field Hall at the Field Museum of Natural History. The dimensions of the hall are impressive but a bit large for 300 diners.

The conference planner takes great personal pride in create a Wow event each year and she challenged ITLC to elevate this high-end dinner to unique experience.

Solution
Working with our creative vendor partners, we chose to create an innovative visual journey across the continents.  This "Crossing the Continents" theme acknowledges our common interests and celebrates our differences.  We had to demonstrate this new projection concept to our client. Our audio/visual partner arranged a full-scale demonstration at their warehouse and the visual power of the idea was apparent even in this industrial setting.

Eight sheered panels were hung around Stanley Field Hall. This reduced the visual size of the space and provided a display surface. A panorama of 12 images from each continent representing people, architecture, fabrics, landscapes, animals, cities and culture were displayed on the sheered panels. The resulting visual journey was timed to match the deluxe five-course dinner.

Result
The combination of this classically elegant structure, a carefully crafted menu, a well choreographic musical accompaniment and the visual journey across the continents created a unique experience that engaged each person, stimulated conversation and left a lasting memory.

Two and one half years after the event the conference planner still speaks to the positive comments about the Chicago conference and the Gala Dinner.
